UNA members at Clearwater Centre in Rocky Mountain House ratify first collective agreement.
Registered Nurses represented by United Nurses of Alberta at the Clearwater Centre in Rocky Mountain House have negotiated their first collective agreement with their employer, the Good Samaritan Society.
The collective agreement will bring employee salaries to parity with UNA members working at other Good Samaritan Society worksites. Most aspects of the agreement at the Clearwater Centre are similar to agreements ratified by UNA members working at Good Samaritan Society worksites in Evansburg, Stony Plain, Medicine Hat, and Edmonton.
A new Letter of Understanding between nurses represented by UNA at the Clearwater Centre and the Good Samaritan Society explains employees positions, rate of pay, hours towards the next increment, and vacation accrual rate under the new collective agreement. Registered Nurses covered under this agreement are eligible to transfer their seniority for the purposes of vacation accrual and sick leave.
This collective agreement will expire on March 31, 2013.
The agreement at the Good Samaritan Society Clearwater Centre was a first contract, achieved thanks to the strength and solidarity of UNA members determined to achieve a collective agreement in their workplace.
