In this workshop, Occupational Health and Safety Committee members will build upon their knowledge from the OH&S Basic workshop. Participants will explore the OH&S Act, Regulation, and Code and will discuss the Committee’s role in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment. This is a full-day workshop and is provincially funded for OH&S Committee members who have not previously taken it.
In this workshop, Local Executives will learn the key components of a functioning Local, including strategic planning, meeting best-practices, and executive roles and responsibilities. This workshop is designed for Local Executive members and is provincially funded for Local Execs who have not taken it previously. In this workshop, UNA leaders and activists will explore best practices in having issue-based conversations with members and in addressing issues through collective action. We will discuss what collective action can look like and what to consider when planning a group action to address an issue. This hybrid workshop will consist of an in-class portion (via Zoom) and self-directed activities for participants to complete. The schedule for the day as well as the Zoom link will be sent to registrants the day before the workshop. Both the online modules and the in-class portion must be completed to receive Provincial funding for this workshop.
