Help safeguard your retirement: take part in a 'how to lobby' workshop

The Labour Coalition on Pensions will hold free “how to lobby” workshops for volunteers in both Calgary and Edmonton as part of the effort to protect our pensions from destructive changes sought by the Redford Government.

Safeguarding pensions for all Albertans requires improvements to the federal government’s Canada Pension Plan. It also requires the Redford Government to keep its pension promises to public sector employees

Union members are urged to contact and lobby their provincial MLAs.

The goal of the free training seminars is to assist members with that goal.

Free pizza, pop and coffee will be provided.

Calgary workshops will be held on Monday, Feb. 24, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the offices Calgary and District Labour Council, 321 – 3132 26th Street NE, Calgary, and Tuesday, Feb. 25, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the CUPE 37 Meeting Room, 5112 – 3rd Street SE, Calgary.

Edmonton workshops will be held every Wednesday until March 19 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Boardroom of the Alberta Federation of Labour, Suite 300, 10408 – 124th Street, Edmonton.
