Speech from the Throne

UNA President Heather Smith (centre) met with Registered Nurses-turned-MLAs Danielle Larivee (left) and Cameron Westhead (right) at this year's Speech from the Throne at the Alberta Legislature.

UNA President Heather Smith was in attendance at yesterday's Speech from the Throne at the Alberta Legislature. Following the speech she had an opportunity to meet with Registered Nurses and MLAs Danielle Larivee and Cameron Westhead. 

Danielle Larivee is Minister of Children's Services and MLA for Lesser Slave Lake and Cameron Westhead is the MLA for Banff-Cochrane. Before their elections in May 2015, Larivee was president of Local 315 and a Registered Nurse in public health in Slave Lake. Westhead was a representative on the UNA provincial board and a Registered Nurse at the the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary.
