Canada's Nurses send message of support to Allina Health nurses
The Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions has sent a letter of support to the Minnesota Nurses Association and their members at five Allina Health hospitals in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area who are facing difficult negotiations with their employer.
Allina Health nurses at five Twin Cities hospitals voted on Thursday to authorize a strike in a dispute over health benefits, staffing and workplace safety.
“We understand the concerns faced by nurses across the U.S., including safe patient care staffing, inadequate planning by the hospitals to ensure a safe environment to reduce workplace violence, and hospital demands for cuts in health coverage for nurses and their families," CFNU President Linda Silas wrote in the letter of support.
