United Nurses of Alberta South District Representative John Terry presented a UNA Education Scholarship to Medicine Hat College nursing student Caitlyn DeMars. Caitlyn's scholarship application was sponsored by her mother, Debra DeMars, who is a member of UNA Local 115 at the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary.
Each year, UNA awards Nursing Education Scholarships to assist nursing students in their first year of studies at approved nursing programs in Alberta. In 2016, UNA will award ten scholarships of $1000 each and one award of $1000 which is sponsored by the Canadian Federation of Nurses' Unions.
Applications for UNA’s 2017 Nursing Education Scholarship will be accepted until Oct. 15, 2016.
