UNA members impacted by VON restructuring

On Nov. 25,2015, the Victorian Order of Nurses announced that they would cease operations in six provinces (Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador), along with a decrease in the size of its head office.

United Nurses of Alberta was disappointed to learn that VON has decided to close its operations in Alberta, impacting nine members of Local 61 based in Edmonton. In total, 352 of 6,446 employees across Canada were affected by this restructuring.
