UNA members urged to attend final pension hearings

More than 200 passionate and engaged working people packed a meeting room in Calgary for the fourth public hearing into Bills 9 and 10, the Alberta government’s controversial pension legislation. The MLA Standing Committee on Alberta’s Economic Future is holding hearings on the controversial pension changes, which would fundamentally undermine the Local Authorities Pension Plan if passed in their present form.

The LAPP is the main retirement security plan for most members of UNA.

United Nurses of Alberta strongly urges members to attend the final public committee hearings to make clear to the MLAs on the committee their concern about proposed changes to their pensions.
