Members of United Nurses of Alberta Local 62 at the Leduc Community Hospital, Local 194 at Leduc Salem Manor, Local 170 at Leduc Extendicare, and Local 196 at Edmonton Community Care held an information walk on November 30, 2013 outside Leduc Common shopping complex to raise public awareness about the impact nurse layoffs will have on safe patient care in their community.
Many nurses participating in the information walks wore white to demonstrate their pride in their profession and their support for their patients and their families.
