UNA responds to Chris Eagle's resignation as AHS President and CEO

United Nurses of Alberta Second Vice-President Jane Sustrik issued the following statement in response to Dr. Chris Eagle’s resignation as President and CEO of Alberta Health Services:

From the time he stepped into his role as President and CEO of AHS in 2010, Chris Eagle always made the effort to speak with representatives of staff to resolve many of the issues facing AHS.

Presented with a difficult challenge, he was always understated, calm, open and approachable. This attitude has earned Dr. Eagle the respect of many professionals working in the health care system. I wish him good luck in his next endeavours.

UNA looks forward to working with Duncan Campbell as he assumes his role as Acting President and CEO of AHS. As an AHS Vice-President, UNA was encouraged by his willingness meet and review the organization’s finances. We look forward to a continued cooperative approach and openness to working together to resolve the challenges facing the health care system.
