AUPE and Hardisty Care Centre reach tentative agreement

The Alberta Union of Provincial Employees and Park Place Seniors Living, the company that owns Hardisty Care Centre, reached a tentative agreement late on July 19 for close to 80 striking Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides at the facility.

The AUPE members have been on strike since May 22.

UNA’s Executive Board joined the AUPE strikers on the picket line last month to show UNA members’ support.

AUPE President Guy Smith today described the agreement as “a good first agreement and one we can use to build on in future bargaining.”

The AUPE members are expected to vote on the agreement early next week.

More information is available at the AUPE website.
