Celebrate Labour Day and show your Canadian pride
Labour Day is an annual holiday to celebrate the achievements of workers and has been celebrated on the first Monday in September in Canada since the 1880s.
Today, nurses are leaders in Canada's labour movement. As the union for more than 35,000 Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses and allied workers in Alberta, United Nurses of Alberta is an effective advocate for nurses, the nursing profession and Canada’s fair and efficient public health care system.
UNA is encouraging members and locals to show their pride for Canada on Labour Day by taking photos while posing with a Canadian flag and sharing the photos with engagement@una.ca. The photos will be shared on UNA’s social media and in a future edition of the UNA News Bulletin. Locals and members are asked to submit their photos by Friday, September 11.
