Mental Health Week 2026
May 4 to 10 is Mental Health Week, a week marked annually by the Canadian Mental Health Association to raise awareness and call for action to engage in small, daily activities that strengthen connections and combat the loneliness that can affect mental health.
This year’s Mental Health Week, the CMHA is theme is "Come together, Canada,” emphasizing meaningful social connections that are essential for building resilience and improving well-being.
United Nurses of Alberta is proud of the work that Registered Psychiatric Nurses and Registered Nurses do everyday to support the mental health of patients, their families and all Albertans. This Mental Health Week, as we think about our own and others health needs, let’s not forget the importance of our own mental wellbeing.
Having to work and provide family care and self-care can not only be stressful but can be traumatizing. UNA recognizes that this can affect our members in different ways. There is no right or wrong way for each individual to respond to stress and trauma.
The mental health and safety of our members and their patients remains our priority, so UNA encourages members to view the resources available on the CMHA website as well as the mental health resources page of the UNA website.
