Have your say: UNA collaborates with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada for the upcoming Professional Fulfillment Index Survey!
United Nurses of Alberta (UNA), in collaboration with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as well as the Canadian Federation of Nurses Union (CFNU), will be conducting a Professional Fulfilment Index (PFI) email survey of UNA’s general members and duespayers in April. The survey will be ongoing for three weeks, approximately. Other member organizations within the CFNU will also be participating in the survey as well.
The Professional Fulfillment Index (PFI) is a validated 16-item, self-report instrument designed by Stanford Medicine to measure both professional fulfillment and burnout among healthcare professionals. A key benefit of the PFI is its ability to focus on both the positive and negative aspects of work, its brevity, and its sensitivity to change.
This survey of all UNA members and duespayers is conducted on behalf of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons and Canada using Logical Outcomes.
In order to conduct the survey, UNA may disclose a member or duespayer’s full name and email to Logical Outcomes to complete the survey. Should you wish your personal information not to be disclosed to Logical Outcomes, please contact research.staff@una.ca no later than March 31, 2026. We will exclude this information accordingly in order to comply with the Personal Information Protection Act. Please note UNA has a licence agreement with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and Logical Outcomes which only allows for participants’ personal information to be used to complete the survey.
Information collected through the survey is confidential and anonymous. After responses are collected, Logical Outcomes combines and aggregates all the data before sharing results with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, CFNU and UNA.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact UNA’s Researcher, Danusia Moreau, at the phone numbers below or by email at research.staff@una.ca.
We hope you complete the survey if selected. Your responses will help us provide comprehensive information on nurses’ professional fulfillment across Alberta and will help advocate for improved working conditions and nurses’ well-being.
