Important Notice: Problem with 2025 T4s issued by HSS to some employees

United Nurses of Alberta has been informed by Health Shared Services (HSS) that there has been a problem with T4s issued to a small number of employees of the former Alberta Health Services, members of UNA and the Health Sciences Association of Alberta. 
 
HSS said 2025 T4s issued to 1,423 employees who are members of UNA and HSAA had two earning codes, AHN (Acting Head Nurse) and ESG (Employee Shift Giveaway) included in Box 14 of the T4 in a way that does reflect how these codes function. These codes track hours or program cost only. They are not earnings and should not appear on pay statements.
 
This may also impact employees of Covenant Health who share the same payroll system. 
 
Most of the 2025 T4s issued to more than 167,000 employees did not have this problem, HSS said. 
 
HSS Payroll has updated the affected slips and amended T4s are already available within the payroll system. 
 
Impacted employees will receive an e‑People notification today – February 26, 2025 – to direct them to their amended T4.
