Former UNA members can collect retro pay under the new collective agreement

UNA members whose employment ended for any reason between April 1, 2024, and when the new Provincial Collective Agreement was ratified on April 3, 2025, are eligible to receive retroactively any increases they would have been eligible for in the agreement if they had remained on the job.

Retro payments for current employees will be paid on April 30, 2025. Employees on Leaves of Absences including Maternity and Adoption/Parental Leave and employees on Sick Leave will receive retro pay on April 30, 2025.

United Nurses of Alberta members whose employment ended for any reason between April 1, 2024, and when the new Provincial Collective Agreement was ratified on April 3, 2025, are eligible to receive retroactively any increases they would have been eligible for in the agreement if they had remained on the job.

Former Employees may submit a written request for the retroactive payment of any increases they would have received for the period they were employed.

Former Alberta Health Services (AHS) employees who have transferred to another provincial health agency, including Recovery Alberta (RA) and Primary Care Alberta (PCA), are not required to request payment of retroactive increases as long as they remain employed by the new provincial health agency as of the date of ratification.

Employees already opted into the RSP/TFSA will automatically have 2% of their retro contributed to the RRSP/TFSA which is then matched by the Employer.
