Provincial Negotiations Update #21
UPDATE #21
March 10, 2025
- The UNA Provincial Negotiating Committee has reached a Tentative Agreement with the Employers.
- A virtual briefing for Local Executives and the Executive Board will beTuesday March 11, 2025 at 18:00.
- The Negotiating Committee has called for a virtual Reporting Meeting on Tuesday March 25, 2025.
- Virtual information sessions (Town Halls) for members will be heldSaturday March 15 at 13:00 hours and Tuesday March 18 at 19:00 hours.
- The four-year agreement will significantly improve wages for all affected UNA members. RNs and RPNs will have an immediate increase of approximately 15% and an overall increase of approximately 20% (not inclusive of Step progression).
- The RRSP/TFSA remains current. The Education Allowance remains current.
- Improvements include increased charge pay, increased vehicle allowance, increased on call rate, increased preceptor pay, 100% paid professional fees and liability insurance.
- In addition there is a commitment the government will include RNs and RPNs in presumptive coverage for psychological injuries by June 30, 2025.
- The Employers have explicitly committed to "providing safe staffing for all patients, residents and clients". The Tentative Agreement includes an expedited process to challenge baseline staffing.
- There is a commitment to hire and provide supportive entry for 1000 new graduates each year of the Tentative Agreement,

- The Negotiating Committee believes this Tentative Agreement reflects the priorities and expectations of the membership and we are proud to recommend acceptance.
