Why they stay: Alberta nurses share heartfelt stories

Nurses across Alberta are shouldering the weight of a staffing crisis like never before, often juggling the workload of two or three nurses. Added to those challenges, some nurses face the harrowing reality of violence while on duty.

The toll of these circumstances is profound, leaving many nurses physically and emotionally exhausted. Despite facing tempting opportunities elsewhere, they continue to stand by your side, dedicated to serving our communities and upholding the integrity of our public health care system.

We recently reached out to some of our nurses, asking them: Have you ever considered leaving this profession? What keeps you here?
