UNA urges members to participate in AHS and Covenant Health immunization clinics
Influenza and COVID-19
United Nurses of Alberta urges its members to be immunized against influenza and COVID-19 at Alberta Health Services and Covenant Health workplace health and safety clinics that are opening this week across all zones.
Both AHS and Covenant Health issued memorandums last week to staff, physicians and volunteers encouraging them to be immunized against respiratory conditions to protect staff and patients, especially vulnerable populations such as the elderly and young children.
But UNA hopes all members at all health care worksites will access immunization against influenza and COVID-19.
AHS employees can walk in, book online, or call 8-1-1 to make an appointment, AHS said. In addition, there will be roving immunization carts in many AHS facilities and units.
Covenant Health employees can access information on clinic locations and times via CompassionNet.
Members will have the option to receive an mRNA XBB. 1.5 COVID-19 vaccine and an influenza vaccine at the same booking in many locations.
